In consideration of the long felt need of the Community, Consulate General of India in Vancouver is pleased to announce opening of the new Indian Visa and Consular Services Centre in Vancouver and Surrey with effect from 27th October, 2009.
These Centres, managed by M/s VFS (Canada) on behalf of the Consulate, will accept applications for Visa, Passport, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) and Police Clearance Certificate (except Attestation of documents and Life Certificates) in person / by mail / by courier and dispatch the processed document by mail / courier / in person. Attestation of documents and Life Certificates will continue to be accepted at the Consulate as before.
In addition to the fees for the service applied for, an amount of C$ 19.25 (plus applicable taxes) will be levied by M/s VFS (Canada) as service charge. VFS call centres (tel. 778-783-0766 for Vancouver & 778-783-0767 for Surrey) will be available w.e.f. 20th October, 2009 for answering queries by the applicants
These Centres are open to public Mondays through Saturdays, from 0800 am to 0230 pm for submission of applications and 0330 pm to 0700 pm for delivery of processed documents. These centres will be located at

In addition, collection centres are also being opened in Calgary and Edmonton very shortly.
The required fees for various services and agency charges could be paid by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Money Order/ Bank Draft or in Cash.
Accordingly, with effect from 2nd November, 2009 applications for Visa, Passport, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) and Police Clearance Certificate will not be received in the Consulate General of India Office at 201-325, Howe Street, Vancouver V6C 1Z7 either directly or by mail.
