NEW REQUIREMENT

Persons of Indian Origin to obtain Surrender Certificate on Renunciation of Indian Citizenship

IMPORTANT: FEES ACCEPTED  ONLY BY BANK DRAFT/POSTAL MONEY ORDER in favour of ‘CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA’ – NO CASH/DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED AT THE CONSULATE.

      An additional fee of C$ 2.00 per application will be charged with effect from September 10, 2012, on each service on account of Consular Surcharge.  This will be in addition to   the already prescribed fees and service charges.

3(b) Attestation of Trade/Commercial documents or issue of any certificate pertaining to exports from India to a foreign country. 32.00
Marriage Fee
4. A Consular Officer solemnizing a marriage, registration of a marriage certificate and a certified copy of the entry (all) 80.00
  Fees in response of merchant shipping  
5(a) Attestation of documents pertaining to sale, purchase, mortgage, transfer of vessel or transfer of one's  interest in merchant vessel. 414.00
5(b) Attestation of other documents pertaining to ship/vessel for issue of a certificate or verification or acceptance of a document or taking any action as per Chapter IX of the Consular Manual on Merchant Shipping. The Shipping Company (or captain of vessel on behalf of company) being applicant/payee of Consular fee. 80.00
5(c) Attestation of documents of issue of certificates to a sailor as per Chapter IX of the Consular Manual on Merchant Shipping (individual sailor being applicant for his individual use). 16.00
Fee in respect of other services
6(a) For administration or distribution, or both of the property situated in country, of the Consular Officer's residence, of any Indian citizen or any other person, not being a seaman, dying in testate, or if not in testate, when undertaking in the absence of legally competent representative of the deceased in country of his death or a request of legal heirs of deceased living in India as the case may be.  414.00

6(b) If such property is in country of concurrent accreditation of a Consular Officer) 1640.00

6(c) Issue of succession certificate as laid down in the Consular Manual. (2.5% of estimated value of the estate or property) (US$ to be converted @1.5917%)
7. Services requiring visits or attendance of a Consular Officer on request of applicant away from Chancery. Officer's traveling allowances & daily allowance: C$ 164 for each visit plus Consular fee for services required.
8(a) Attestation of pension papers, life certificate, etc. pertaining to pensioners. Gratis
8(b) For affixing Consular Officer's signature seal, if required, for declarations of pay or pension.

9(a) Other misc. attestations, issue of civil certificates, notarial services as per Consular Manual, not falling within any of above categories, registration of birth & a certified copy of the entry, 32.00
9(b) Where Consular Officer draws up or assists in drawing up of any documents pertaining to services mentioned at item 9(a) above. 64.00
9(c) Registration of death and a certified copy of the entry with the provision that HOM/HOP may waive these charges at his discretion. 32.00
10. Cancellation of Indian passport of an Indian national who dies abroad. Gratis
 

Attestation

Requirements: 

(a) Document to be attested in original with one photocopy. 

(b) Valid passport supported by valid visa or any other immigration document with a photocopy. 

(c)  C$32.00 if documents relate to property matters and C$ 80.00 for commercial documents: additional fee of C$ 5.00 would be charged if document contains more than one page and need to be clipped. 

(d)   The document be got Notarised from a Notary Public and submitted for attestation or  applicant to come in person and sign in the presence of consular officer.

Time taken: Documents are attested and returned the same day.
Mail-in applications : 5 working  days after receipt.  Return pre-paid envelope  must be sent for return of the documents.  
In the case of attestation for Canadians Nationals
The documents should be notarised by an authorised Notary Public before these are brought to the  Consulate for attestation.

For attestation of   Will/  Adoption documents, the signature of Notary Public is required to be authenticated by Deputy Attorney General/Deputy Provincial Secretary of the province concerned.


For attestation of Birth/Death/Marriage/Divorce/Educational Certificates, these are required to be authenticated by Deputy Attorney General/Deputy Provincial Secretary of the province concerned.


For attestation of commercial documents,  the signature of  Notary Public  are required to be  authenticated by Deputy Attorney General/ Deputy Provincial Secretary  of  the Province concerned.
